“The Oscars of Green Building” BRE China Awards & BREEAM 30th Anniversary announces winners of BREEAM buildings

BRE China has announced the winners of its BRE China Awards 2021 at a gala event held on March 3rd at the Langham Shanghai.

Under the normalized pandemic prevention and control, the awards ceremony strictly followed the government’s guidelines and was held as a hybrid event. For the first time, invited guests were given the opportunity to choose between attending the event on-site or virtually. The event attracted over 100 attendees attending offline, and gained tens of thousands of online unique views.

A range of key stakeholders gathered together to celebrate key achievements from BREEAM projects and project teams in Greater China. This included government leaders from China’s real estate and property management industry, domestic and foreign authoritative experts in the field of green buildings and human settlements, mainstream media reporters and other professionals.

The BRE China awards recognise the BREEAM projects and organisations that, in the view of the independent judging panel, provide the best balance between performance, replicability and innovation.

The awards cover a variety of sectors including residential, commercial and industrial as well as project types such as new construction, refurbishment and in-use.

BREEAM 30 Years and Counting

This year BREEAM celebrates its 30th Birthday, and the numbers since its launch speak for themselves. With over 590,000 certificates issued and over 2,310,000 registered buildings across 90 countries, BRE has so much to celebrate from its work. To this year’s winners, BRE thanks all the support and advocacy for BREEAM over the last three decades and congratulate all in the achievements.

Looking ahead, BREEAM will continue to create a movement for sustainability within the built environment while working towards a positive future for all that use BREEAM and benefit from its impact.
