As an organisation BRE Group is closely monitoring the progress of Brexit and we are making some practical changes in order to minimise disruption for our customers as the transition period came to an end (31 December).
To ensure continuity of services to both existing and new customers we have established BRE Global Assurance (Ireland) Limited, trading as BRE Global Ireland. This will ensure continuity of CE marking, which can only be carried out through BRE Global Ireland, and similarly UKCA marking which can only be provided through BRE Global (UK).
BRE Global Ireland is notified to undertake Product Certification under three key areas (i) Construction Product Regulation (CPR), (ii) Marine Equipment Directive and (iii) Transportable Pressure Equipment Directive. BRE Global Ireland provides manufacturers with CE marking services for products that are covered by harmonised European Standards as a Notified Body (NB), and European Technical Assessments as a Technical Assessment Body (TAB), under CPR. The notified body activity covers all three, whereas TAB activity is CPR only.
BRE Global Ireland can provide the support that manufacturers, importers and distributors of construction products, marine equipment and transportable pressure equipment need for the certifications of products to be sold in EU markets. As above, from 1st January CE marking will only be provided through BRE Global Ireland and UKCA marking will only be provided by BRE Global (UK).
If you are a manufacturer, importer or distributor and wish to sell or distribute your products in the Euro-Zone, you require the products to be certified by an approved EU Notified Body (NB).
